Allegheny County SEC The Allegheny County SEC is forming and training is being planned for early September. This chapter is hosted by both the Allegheny County Conservation District and the Allegheny Watershed Alliance, an organization that supports the efforts of watershed groups and citizen science efforts within the county. This partnership will provide access to advanced mapping and opportunities to collaborate with other organizations and groups in the area. We intend for this partnership to go beyond water quality monitoring as it grows.
Allegheny County contains urban, suburban, and agricultural areas. Our SEC will be monitoring a diverse set of streams affected by different issues such as nutrient pollution, excess sediment loading, and stormwater. As our group forms, we can develop plans on how to best meet what is needed in this area. Join us in protecting and improving our area’s water resources!
